Sadly, today is not that day. I made these Oatmeal Cookies With Cranberries and Chocolate Chips from Women's Health. They were tasty and also functioned as a craving curber. Can't say that they are a perfect substitute when you need a decadent dessert, but they certainly work as cookies, as opposed to 'healthy' cookies. Know what I mean?
The end product is sort of a mixture between granola and a cookie. But anything with chocolate chips takes it out of the healthy category in my mind so this is definitely not granola. I might even add more chocolate chips next time. But the cranberry/chocolate combo worked perfectly and I would definitely make these again. Maybe with white chocolate chips next time??
(Sorry no picture- these cookies are not very photogenetic and my iphone sucks for food porn.)
is your iphone good for regular porn?
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA lou! {you know it! sooo just kidding}
ReplyDeletethere's gotta be some kooky LA spot for "healthy" cakes... i'll be looking into this before my visit next week.
ReplyDelete"healthy" cakes... lame.
ReplyDeletehahaha nothing vegan. i'm not down with that.
ReplyDeletewhen i was little my mom used to make these chocolate pudding pies with graham cracker crust-- we could totally remake that with fatfree/sugarfree chocolate jello pudding and the low fat graham cracker crust.
ReplyDeletesome vegan cakes are really good--- they still have chocolate and flour and sugar! just no butter or eggs. those scones that i sent you are heatlhy, yummy, and dairy-free, too!
i had some of those scones in LA and they were delish!
ReplyDeletei'll have that pudding graham cracker treat!! mmmmm....remember the pudding with the crunched up oreos that you'd put in a pot with gummie worms?!?
